Gundam Zero
Kirabi carefully walked around the main deck of the Winner resource satellite that had been recently taken over by Oz. She smiled Treize had sent her here because Mr. Winner was dead and Quatre the only named heir was nowhere to be found. This meant that it had been given to the military. It was pathetic how even with 29 older daughters; there was only one heir the only and youngest son. Oh well things worked out in the end Treize had given her this command because she just happened to be a daughter of Mr. Winner and had every right to the satellite. This in her opinion was good she finally wasn't just one of 30 children. She had a purpose and finally a life that was all her own. Oz and Treize had given her that and she was forever in their debt. He had also given her a mobile suit that reminded her of Sandrock her brother's Gundam. It was called Gotsu and it was beautiful more then she could ask for. A young lieutenant snapped Kirabi away from her quiet reflection on life "Lady Winner there's a body out there," he said.
Trowa lay in space silently. He had completely given up on survival and was just enjoying his last five minutes of oxygen by looking at the stars and carefully wishing for his sister's safety. All of a sudden he felt a pair of slim arms slide around his body and wrenched him backward. He turned his head around and looked at a girl with boyishly cut red locks and bluish-green eyes that were slightly bluer than Quatre's. She was wearing a purple female style Oz spacesuit with of course a purple space helmet. She kindly smiled down on him, let go of him with one of her arms and tugged her pulley and began to drag them back to the space ship. 'She looks just like Quatre,' was Trowa's last conscious thought before he slipped into blackness.
Kirabi finally managed to drag the boy back to her spacecraft. Laying him down on a cot, she shut the shuttle door and half jumped half flew to the cockpit. Taking off her helmet she shook her red locks ,which were very short, till they fell straight. Sighing she thought once again about shaving her head. She 'hated' her hair; it was always messy, never stayed combed for any more then five minutes, and on top of it all she hated it's color. It's red was too light for her taste. It was a light red highlighted with blonde. She hit her forehead.
"And since when do 'I' think about my hair!" she shook her head, "I have completely lost it." She said all this out loud and maybe a little too loudly for her sleeping guest. Because suddenly she heard a groan from behind her. Apparently her (what she thought) dead guest was no longer dead.
Trowa breathed in sharply and tried to sit up. Unsuccessfully one might say because he fell back with a quiet thump. So he gave up on trying to get up and sought to remove his helmet. After a moment of fumbling with the locks of the helmet he finally managed to get it off. Breathing in air as though for the first time ever. He then decided to retry sitting up. This time he was successful. Leaning against the wall of the ship he looked around at his surroundings 'It looks like a type one Oz spacecraft' he thought, 'But who's the pilot.' As he turned towards the cockpit he got his answer. The same girl that had rescued him earlier was sitting in the pilots seat. Her hair was very short especially in the back. She turned to face him slightly shocked, "Oh my God… no offense but I thought you were dead," she said to him. He smiled slightly,
"Well I guess you thought wrong," the girl nodded then turned as the communication system went off.
Kirabi activated the system and faced her second in command and trusted friend Lt. Reignard. She was a bright-eyed recruit from the colonies, conned into doing Oz's dirty work for her. 'So I guess we aren't really friends then are we Lily,' Kirabi thought as the girl beamed at her.
"Well did you get the body?" Lily said with a slight grimace at the mention of the word body. Kirabi smiled at the gullible soldier,
"As a matter of fact I did and… this body happens to be alive." Lily's brown eyes widened until Kirabi swore they were the size of saucers. Kirabi laughed at the sight,
"What is your problem?" she said, " He's not a zombie or anything he was alive the whole time…" then she added with a spooky voice, "At least I think." Lily screamed and turned off the comm. leaving Kirabi to laugh while Trowa just looked at her slightly confused.
'She is the oddest person I've ever met,' Trowa thought as the girl fell out of her chair from laughing so hard. From her upside down position she looked at him. She noticed his confusion then spoke,
"What? It's a joke. You're supposed to laugh you know ha…ha," she shook her head, "I give up," she said. Trowa looked at her as she got out of her chair and walked to him.
"Well I just don't understand how you can find tricking someone amusing," he said. Kirabi shook her head then changed the subject,
"So who are you anyway?" she asked. Trowa looked up then quickly thought about his chances of Oz finding out who he really was. Shaking free those disrupting thoughts he answered her,
"I'm officer Trowa Barton," Kirabi raised a slim eyebrow.
'Is he who I think he is?' Kirabi thought. She smiled a small smile, "You wouldn't happen to be related to a Saria Barton would you?" she asked. She watched as Trowa paled considerably and Kirabi chuckled as he stuttered slightly
"Well…uh…yah…um… how did you get that idea?!" Kirabi laughed this time then spoke again,
"Well for one thing Saria is famous in Oz and two she happens to be my best friend," she thought for a moment then continued, "In fact if I remember correctly she had a brother that just happened to be a Gundam pilot… now that doesn't happen to be you does it." Trowa turned even paler and she started to wonder whether or not Trowa was going to faint. She decided to speak before Trowa went into cardiac arrest or something, "Don't worry I won't tell anyone." Trowa looked up at her.
"What did you say?" Trowa asked her. Kirabi rolled her eyes,
"Are you deaf or something I said I wouldn't tell anyone," Trowa nodded,
"I know but… why?" Kirabi sighed,
"I thought that was obvious… I don't want to hurt Saria," Kirabi replied. Trowa was about to ask a very stupid question when the answer hit him. 'If Oz found out I was a Gundam pilot and the fact that Saria knew about it. She would be disgraced or even worse. She could be killed.' He thought. So Trowa remained silent. All the while he watched her until she finally got annoyed with him and spoke, "And what are you staring at" she asked him.
"well aren't you going to tell me your name," he replied.
"oh yah I'm Kirabi…," she was interrupted by a warning siren that went off at the cockpit. As if on instinct both Kirabi and Trowa both jumped to the cockpit. When they both tried to sit in the pilots seat they bumped into each other. "Umm…oops well umm… that's kind of my seat, Trowa," Kirabi said while Trowa got out of the pilots' seat and into the co-pilots' seat. "Thank you," Kirabi said before turning her attention to her scanners. "It appears that… Oh Damn get down!" Kirabi said and threw herself out of her seat and on to the floor covering her head. A second later Trowa knew why. About a hundred Mobile Suits and Mobile Dolls flew past him at top speeds swerving the ship out of their way.
'It was basically Hell' were Kirabi's exact thoughts as the ship rocked and heard pieces of the outer hull being ripped away. She felt Trowa fall on top of her body. Whether this was to protect her from the blasts or because he lost control and just fell she wasn't sure, but she wasn't about to complain. Eventually the shaking stopped and Trowa got off her. She carefully stood up. Shaking her hair straight she went to the cockpit but didn't bother to sit down. She checked her instruments checking the status of her ship and the satellite. Her bluish-green eyes widen as the status of the satellite flashed across the screen, " Oh…Damn it!" she exclaimed. Trowa turned to her.
"What is it?" he asked. Walking up behind her, and glancing over her shoulder he saw what made her curse. The entire habitable satellite was reduced to practically nothing. The satellite itself on the other hand seemed undamaged. Kirabi's eyes grew even (if possible) wider,
"All those people," she murmured softly, "They died uselessly by…by those cursed mobile dolls," she said nearly screaming the last phrase. Trowa quietly shook his head, 'This isn't right' he thought. He sat down in the co-pilot's seat as the communication system went off. She answered it quickly obviously thinking it was a distress call of some sort, "Hello is anyone there hello this is Lt. Colonel Kirabi Winner," she said in a hurried voice. Trowa's head whipped to her,
"Kirabi…Winner?" he said. Kirabi looked at him sheepishly,
"Yah I kind of never told you my last name did I," she said looking the console with great interest now,
"No you didn't," he muttered more to himself but Kirabi heard anyway.
'Oh great now he must hate me,' she thought bitterly. She typed in a few more commands and a young man in a one of the attacking mobile suits appeared on the screen, "Who the Hell are you and why are you attacking my resource satellite!" She nearly screamed at the unfortunate officer. The officer flinched at her then replied,
"I'm very sorry Miss but I need know something." Kirabi scowled at him, "And what might that be," she shot back venomously. The officer wasted no time in responding to her question,
"Do your loyalties still lie with his excellency?" Kirabi gaped at him,
"Of course my loyalties lie with Treize why would you question that," she said at a more normal tone. The officer just shook his head and smiled.
